Local Races Matter!

Our favorite time of year is back! As you know, the 2019 election cycle is already in full swing. The early months of the year always bring the same thing- candidate recruitment and petition season! These odd year election cycles are extremely important and where the Bucks County Democratic Committee and our Municipal Organizations really swing into action. Right now, we are actively recruiting candidates from School Board Director and Township Supervisor all the way down the ballot to Tax Collector. We know that the key to success in these elections is to compete everywhere, in every race with qualified, motivated candidates.

To support this process, the BCDC will be organizing and executing training sessions for candidates running on the Democratic ticket. We held our first session on January 30 at the Doylestown Library and will be holding our next session on March 30 (location TBD). Please get in contact with Executive Director Steve Warhola for more information and to sign up.

We had an extremely successful 2017 Municipal Election cycle, with unprecedented wins at both the County and Municipal level. We won a total of 141 races in 2017, with 69 being newly held. We are looking to double down on success that in 2019. If you are interested in running for Local Office, please get in contact with your local Chair of the Municipal Organization near you.

If you are looking for a way to better your local community, running for office could be the best way for you to step up!
